A Keith Green Song
By Nicky
My eyes are dry, my faith is old,
My heart is hard, my prayers are cold,
And I know how I ought to be,
Alive to you, and dead to me.
Oh what can be done, for an old heart like mine,
Soften it up, with oil and wine.
The oil is You, Your Spirit of love,
Please wash me anew, in the wine of Your blood.
My eyes are dry, my faith is old,
My heart is hard, my prayers are cold,
And I know how I ought to be,
Alive to you, and dead to me.

Think About the Good Stuff
by Nicky
My absolute favorite scripture in the Bible is Philipians 4:8 "Finally brethren...if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things."
Why do we waste so much time worrying when we are repeatedly instructed to think about the excellent and praiseworthy things in our lives. We are also told to rejoice continually, give thanks always, and pray without ceasing. If I was constantly rejoicing and giving thanks, I would have to be thinking about the things worth giving thanks and rejoicing about. I'm certainly not doing any thanksgiving or rejoicing about the current gas prices, so maybe I shouldn't think so much about it.
As to the war in Iraq, perhaps my way of thinking may offend some...We were in WWII for about the same period of time and lost how many men? I don't know the number, but it was definitely way more than eleven hundred. We've been in Iraq for three years with great results and have only lost 1,000-1,100 soldiers. Yes, every life is valuable. BUT, praise God that it has only been 1,100! Could you imagine what this war would have been like had we waited on the United Nations? It would be World War III....our allies against Hussein's allies...a lot more men, a lot more deaths. It would have gone on and on with a lot more casualties. With that many men fighting each other, Hussein would have been hiding good and there wouldn't have been a chance of capturing him. Though some may not see it this way, I praise God that our President sent troops to Iraq at the time he did.
Well, sorry if I made anyone mad with my view of the Iraq war. Just think happy thoughts (and be nice to me)!
***Please leave comments to let me know you are here. It's been over a month since the last post, so I don't know if anyone will actually read this.
